# About Longshots App

Longshots App is a small, focused guide site about one thing: the Longshot challenge in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and the camo grind around it.

MW4 launched on 23 October 2026, and within days the same questions kept showing up. What distance counts as a longshot? Why did that kill not register? Can you do it on Shipment? The game itself never answers these. The challenge names appear in the camo menus with no distances, no map advice, nothing. Players were left testing ranges by trial and error and swapping numbers in forum threads.

This site collects those answers in one place. We cover the player-tested longshot distance for every weapon class, from 12 meters for shotguns to 51 meters for sniper rifles. We look at specific maps and sightlines, like the train tracks on Coal and Reactor U92, and specific modes, mainly Ground War, Hardpoint and Domination. We also cover the neighbouring challenges that sit in the same Special Camo list — Point Blank, Mounted, Akimbo, Focused, From Behind and Hipfire — because most players grind them together.

One thing we are careful about: the distances here are player-tested figures. Infinity Ward has not published official longshot or point blank numbers, and we say so wherever the numbers appear. If a patch changes a threshold, community testing will show it, and we would rather label an estimate honestly than dress it up as an official fact.
